You actually ran into one of the most common cPanel quirks. A lot of people naturally go to MultiPHP Manager first because the name sounds like the place where everything PHP-related lives, but the extension controls are tucked away under Select PHP Version, so it’s easy to miss if you’ve never been pointed there.

Now that you know where it is, you should be able to handle most “missing PHP extension” messages yourself in just a few clicks whenever a new site or subdomain needs something.
